Microsoft Windows 7 Support Ends – what does this mean for schools?

Microsoft have recently announced that they will no longer be providing any product support for Windows 7. They want to invest more time in new technology and opportunities.

Windows 7 has been running since 22nd October 2009 and have committed 10 years of support. The official end of support is on the 14th January 2020. From that day onward there will no longer be any updates or technical advice available. Therefore, all windows 7 devices will be at high risk, because there will be no security support either. The solution to this discontinued support is to update any device that is running on Windows 7.

Microsoft are suggesting upgrading devices to a PC running on Windows 10. With more efficient, powerful and risk-free PC’s with full technical support – in our opinion makes sense!
