  • Preparation for Parents and Teachers: Learning Outside the Classroom

    learning from home

In light of recent events, schools are preparing for the possibility that they will need to close and let pupils stay at home. This clearly presents a few challenges for schools and most definitely the parents. Parents may need to stay at home or organise help if this is not an option.

The question on many parents mind will be.. ” How on earth are we going to keep them busy and productive, rather than playing on the PlayStation for 4 weeks straight?” As the students eyes light up with the thought of unlocking new Fortnite dances, parents are thinking of new ways to break up the day and keep their mind active.

There are schools up and down the country that are already well prepared for this and can advise parents on how to implement some form of learning into their days at home. With the likes of portals, apps and learning platforms, it provides the opportunity for pupils to login using any device and gain access to online educational content.

Educational Platforms

There are a range of educational platforms that you are likely to have heard of or seen your children use for homework or in the classroom. Mathematical software such as MyMaths and Mathletics have shown to be extremely popular.

Educational Applications

Educational applications can be found on any device from android or apple products. Whether you are using Chromebooks, iPads or simply an iphone. These apps can be accessed with a simple download.

edde’s experience

Here at edde we have years of experience introducing technology into schools. Offering 1:1 schemes for pupils to get their own digital devices. Insuring these devices which enables students to take these home. If you are a parent or teacher and have any questions as to how you can benefit from this, we would be happy to provide any advice. Just because students are at home, doesn’t mean that learning can’t continue!

Edde understands that embarking on a device scheme where you are asking parents to contribute to technology can be daunting especially if devices have been provided to some extent in the past.

By entering your details, you will receive a free survey tool to enable you to gauge interest from your parents and help highlight areas that you need to consider ensuring the successful digital learning scheme.
