Benefits of technology in education

Benefits of technology in education

The traditional textbook and whiteboard are now a thing of the past. Technology in education is by far the new way of learning in a classroom. Every type of digital device provides children with all the correct learning resources.

Current trends show that children adapt and learn a lot better using digital devices. It helps their performance academically but also prepares them for the technological future ahead of them.

The 5 benefits of technology in education

1. Makes learning more fun

There are loads of different resources available on the world wide web, enabling students of all ages and year groups to make learning fun. Using video content, fun games, apps etc is now known to be the best way to make school enjoyable!

2. Helps student’s retention rate

Being at school for roughly 7 hours is a long time to concentrate on several different subjects. Incorporating digital devices (iPad, laptops, tablets) into students learning time improves their retention. It has been said that students focus longer when using a digital device.

3. Students learn at their own pace

Every student is different, some learn quick and some slightly slower. Technology in education helps students learn at their own pace. Video content can be played back, apps can be used multiple times to process information better. Giving all students the opportunity to learn in their own stride is a key benefit of technology in education.

4. Technology is the FUTURE!

Technology is overtaking all traditional aspects of schools from whiteboards, text books and cash payments for dinner money. Furthermore, outside the schooling environment technology is having a major impact on all student’s day to day life. Therefore, introducing technology in education prepares them for the very hi-tech future ahead of them.

5. Endless resources for teachers

Students benefit significantly from technology in education but so do teachers. To a certain extent, teachers benefit more by finding the resources online to incorporate into the students’ learning.

Edde understands that embarking on a device scheme where you are asking parents to contribute to technology can be daunting especially if devices have been provided to some extent in the past.

By entering your details, you will receive a free survey tool to enable you to gauge interest from your parents and help highlight areas that you need to consider ensuring the successful digital learning scheme.
