Tracking monthly contributions is one of the most important parts of what we do. Tracking who has paid what, and when, plus monitoring of arrears is key to a successful scheme. Since 2013, edde has been undertaking a number of enhancements to how we collect contributions and the management of arrears.
Our contributions are collected via direct debit. Our system uses text and email based arrears notification which has been significantly enhanced over the years. The outcome is contribution arrears have significantly declined which means a much improved service to the schools we work with.
When parents first go onto our portal, they have to register their details to the school where their children go to. They then enter what we call a “shop” facility, where they choose the device they require and how they will fund it. Some parents opt for the purchase outright option. Here, they make a one off payment via debit or credit card, the monies being transferred directly to the school from edde.
Our purchase outright option works really well for schools, there are some key benefits:
The school and the parent takes advantage of the bulk buying of the device, as opposed to going to a third party shop and just buying one unit
The school will receive all the devices together, hence can keep a note of the serial numbers and can load software / Apps if needed
When all parents buy or sign up to a monthly contribution together via our shop facility, it reduces the chances of them buying the wrong device
Insurance Purchasing and Administration on Claims Processing
Parents can buy insurance that is all approved for devices being used in the school environment. They can benefit from being part of bulk buying pricing and the policy will start from the date they receive the device.
Claims processing is also an important part of providing a good customer service. Sometimes, dealing with a large insurance policy can be painful. Our system helps to manage this claims process and will report back to the school, claims made, claims in progress, claims rejected etc.
